On 26-27 April 2005 the Monetary Policy Council held a meeting.

The Monetary Policy Council decided to reduce the NBP interest rates by 0.5 percentage point to the level of:

• reference rate 5.5% on an annual basis;
• lombard rate 7.0% on an annual basis;
• deposit rate 4.0% on an annual basis;
• rediscount rate 6.0% on an annual basis.

The Council decided to change its monetary policy bias to neutral.

The resolution of the MPC comes into force as of 28 April.
