On 29-30 March 2005 the Monetary Policy Council held a meeting.

The Monetary Policy Council decided to reduce the NBP interest rates by 0.5 percentage point to the level of:

• reference rate 6.0% on an annual basis;
• lombard rate 7.5% on an annual basis;
• deposit rate 4.5% on an annual basis;
• rediscount rate 6.5% on an annual basis.

The Council maintains its easing monetary policy bias.

The resolution of the MPC comes into force as of 31 March.
