| 80 thousand signed the support letter for Leszek Balcerowicz
On Friday, April 7, President of the National Bank of Poland Mr. Leszek Balcerowicz received a support letter which as a result of social action, had been signed by over 80,000 persons.
The letter is a civic initiative initiated by Marek Dudkiewicz, a psychologist, sociologist and a marketing research specialist, not affiliated to any political party.
- The letter reflected my objection to the level of political debate conducted in Poland and in particular my disapproval of the manner in which Professor Leszek Balcerowicz has been attacked. I decided that in such a situation there could not lack the voice of people who respected you and for whom it was obvious that had it not been for your work the civilisational progress would not be possible in Poland - said Mr. Dudkiewicz when passing two thick volumes including the collection of over 80,000 signatures to Leszek Balcerowicz.
Signatures were collected via the internet website of Gazeta Wyborcza daily and by a traditional method.
