With regard to information published by media relating to the date on which the Commission for Banking Supervision (CBS) is to take the decision on the request submitted by Unicredito, and with regard to suggestions that CBS is delaying the decision, NBP Press Center announces the following:
In the letter submitted by Unicredito to the General Inspectorate for Banking Supervision on 19 January 2006, the applicant states that documents and information the banking supervision authority requested in its letter of October 2005, which are necessary to consider Unicredito's request, "will be submitted on 6 February 2006, at the latest".
In the letter the applicant also states: "we understand that the submission of a full set of documents on the date set above will allow for the consideration of Unicredito's request at the CBS meeting planned for 8 March 2006".
