During the World Economic Forum in Davos President of the National Bank of Poland Sławomir Skrzypek held a meeting with the Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs - Mr Joaquin Almunia. The discussion focused on the world financial crisis and its impact on the economic situation in the euro area and Poland. The range of potential monetary, fiscal and structural measures aimed at cushioning the effects of global slowdown for the Polish economy, has been considered.

The issue of euro adoption was also raised during the discussion, with emphasis put on the challenges regarding preparation of this process in Poland.
