NBP has issued the world’s most inspirational coin

NBP’s occasional silver coin “70th Anniversary of Creating the Polish Underground State”, issued in December 2009, has won the title of the world’s “most inspirational coin” at a prestigious “Coin of the Year Award” competition.

The 10-złoty silver coin commemorating the Polish underground state, issued by the NBP, received the award at the “World Money Fair” – the world’s biggest numismatic fair held in Berlin. The statement by the jury said that “the coin combines artistry, history and the values that hold true also in contemporary world”. It is therefore the world’s most inspiring coin. The coin had been struck by the Mint of Poland and designed by Urszula Walerzak.
