NBP data: Money supply in July 2018

In July 2018, the M3 money supply rose by PLN 4.3bn. The growth was mainly driven by an increase in household deposits.
Data released by NBP on 23 August 2018 indicate that in July 2018 the M3 aggregate, reflecting the total money supply, stood at PLN 1.4bn as at the end of the month, i.e. PLN 4.3bn more than at the end of June 2018.
In July 2018, the stock of household deposits and other household claims on banks, which are included in the M3 aggregate, increased by PLN 3.9bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 761.3bn. Deposits and other claims of local government institutions on banks decreased by PLN 0.8bn, i.e. 2.3%, to reach PLN 36.2bn. Corporate deposits and other claims of corporates on banks rose by PLN 0.8bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 263.2bn
Household debt rose by PLN 1.2bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 706.0bn. The stock of banks’ claims on corporates increased by PLN 90mln to PLN 374.8bn, while the net debt of central government institutions increased by PLN 3.3bn, i.e. 1.3%, to reach PLN 257.8bn.
