Money supply in March 2019

In March 2019, the M3 money supply rose by PLN 13.2bn. The growth was mostly driven by an increase in household deposits.
According to data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 April 2019, the M3 aggregate, reflecting the total supply of money, stood at PLN 1,457.2bn as at the end of March 2019, i.e. PLN 13.2bn more than at the end of February 2019.
In March 2019, the stock of household deposits and other household claims on banks which are included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 7.4bn, i.e. 0.9%, to PLN 830.5bn. Deposits and other claims of local government institutions on banks increased by PLN 1.1bn, or 2.9%, to PLN 38.1bn. Corporate deposits and other claims of corporates on banks decreased by PLN 0.2bn, or 0.1%, to PLN 272.4bn.
Household debt rose by PLN 5.1bn, or 0.7%, to PLN 733.5bn. The stock of banks' claims on corporates rose by PLN 2.4bn, to PLN 390.9, while the net debt of central government entities fell by PLN 3.7bn, i.e. 1.3%, to reach PLN 272.6bn.
