Money supply in November 2020

In November 2020, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 8.1bn. The increase was mostly driven by the growth in currency in circulation.
According to data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 December 2020, the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,790.7bn at the end of November 2020, i.e. PLN 8.1bn more than at the end of October 2020.
In November 2020, the value of currency in circulation increased by PLN 5.5bn, i.e. 1.8%, and amounted to PLN 304.1bn. The value of household deposits and other claims of households included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 1.5bn, i.e. 0.2%, and amounted to PLN 953.5bn. The value of corporate deposits and other claims of corporates increased by PLN 1.7bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 378.6bn, and of the local government deposits and other claims, by PLN 1.2bn, i.e. 2.2%, to PLN 53.6bn. On the other hand, the stock of deposits and other claims of other financial institutions decreased by PLN 1.1bn, i.e. 2.0%, to PLN 53.7bn.
Household debt declined by PLN 5.0bn, i.e. 0.6%, to PLN 786.0bn. The stock of banks’ claims on corporates decreased by PLN 1.3bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 376.4bn, and the net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 3.0bn, i.e. 0.8%, to PLN 366.6bn.
