Money supply in October 2021

In October 2021, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 21.5bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households and non-financial corporations.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 November 2021 show that at the end of October 2021 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,935.7bn, i.e. PLN 21.5bn more than at the end of September 2021.

In October 2021, the components included in the M3 aggregate changed as follows: the value of deposits and other claims of households increased by PLN 7.4bn, i.e. 0.7%, and amounted to PLN 1,016.9bn, and the value of deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations increased by PLN 7.4bn, i.e. 1.9%, to PLN 406.3bn. The value of deposits and other claims of other financial institutions increased by PLN 2.9bn, i.e. 4.8%, to PLN 62.8bn. The stock of deposits and other claims of local government institutions increased by PLN 0.2bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 65.4bn.

Non-financial corporate debt increased by PLN 8.0bn, i.e. 2.1%, to PLN 381.2bn, while household debt increased by PLN 5.5bn, i.e. 0.7%, to PLN 825.7bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 7.3bn, i.e. 2.3%, to PLN 319.0bn.
