Press Release 28 March 2001 On March 28th, 2001, the meeting of the Payment Systems Council, an advisory body to the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland, was held. The meeting of the Council was presided by Jerzy Stopyra, the Chairman of the Council, First Deputy President of the National Bank of Poland. The Payment Systems Council: - was submitted the information on actions taken by the National Bank of Poland, Ministry of Finance and Polish Banks Association concerning the introduction of the obligation to use standards and norms by banks,
- was submitted the information of the Polish Banks Association on current problems in the introduction by banks a uniform standard of a bank account number,
- issued a positive opinion to the evaluation of the Polish payment system in the first half of 2000 that was prepared by the Payment Systems Department of NBP.
Moreover, the Council accepted two documents: Report of the activities of the Payment Systems Council in 2000 and Schedule of activities of the Payment Systems Council in 2001. The Council decided that its next meeting would be held on June 13th, 2001. |
