| Vice Prime Minister Janusz Steinhoff and Finance Minister Jaroslaw Bauc as guests of the Monetary Policy Council

As a result of the mutual initiative of the Government and the Monetary Policy Council, on May 21st, 2001 there was held a meeting between Janusz Steinhoff, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Jaroslaw Bauc, Minister of Finance, and the Monetary Policy Council.
The Council was mainly interested in actual condition and outlooks of public finance, the process of privatization and the situation on labor market.
The representatives of the Government were, inter alia, interested in issues related to carrying out the monetary policy.
Next meetings are planned.
Also today, there was held a meeting of the Monetary Policy Council during which the Report of monetary policy guidelines accomplishment in 2000 and the Report of activities of the National Bank of Poland in 2000 were discussed.
The Monetary Policy Council accepted the Report of inflation in 2000.
The next meeting of the Monetary Policy Council will be held according to the schedule on May 29-30th, 2001.
