Release of the meeting of the Payment Systems Council on March 21, 2002 On March 21, 2002, the meeting of the Payment Systems Council, an advisory body to the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland, was held. The meeting of the Council was presided by Jerzy Stopyra, the Chairman of the Council, First Deputy President of the National Bank of Poland. The Payment Systems Council: - was submitted the drafts of new regulations that are crucial for the payment systems: an act on electronic payment instruments and the NBP President regulation on numeration of bank accounts operated by banks, and proposed changes to these drafts,
- discussed problems related to payment order forms for tax payments and assessed the grounds of the Finance Minister's exercise of the statutory delegation to define the form of transfer order/cash order,
- discussed issues related to the closing of the year 2002 in banks' books,
- issued a positive opinion to the prepared by the Payment Systems Department of the NBP evaluation of the Polish payment system in the second half of 2001.
Moreover, the Council adopted two documents: Report of activity of the Payment Systems Council in 2001 and Schedule of activities of the Payment Systems Council for the year 2002. The Council has decided that its next meeting will be held in June 2002. |
