Release of the meeting of the Payment Systems Council 30 October 2002 The Payment System Council, an advisory - consultative body for the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland, held a meeting on 30th October 2002. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jerzy Stopyra, Chairman of the Council, First Deputy President of the National Bank of Poland. The Payment System Council discussed: - strategy for SORBNET system development,
- assessment of the Polish payment system carried out from the point of view of Core principles for systemically important payment systems of the Bank for International Settlements, performed by the Payment Systems Department of the National Bank of Poland,
- assessment of Polish securities settlement systems carried out from the point of view of Recommendations for securities settlement systems included in the report of the Bank for International Settlements, performed by the National Securities Depositary and the Domestic Operations Department of the National Bank of Poland,
- changes in the mode of clearing debiting documents and a draft of Economic Direct Debit proposed by the Polish Banking Association.
The Council determined that the next meeting is to be held in December 2002. |
