At the meeting on March 6, 2002 the Commission for Banking Supervision discontinued proceedings on the application to issue permission to establish the following savings and loan associations:

• Bank Polsko-Niemiecka Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Budowlana "Fundamenta" S.A.,
• "Moj Dom" Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Budowlana Wustenrot Bank S.A.,
• Bank Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Budowlana "Perspektywa" S.A.,
• Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Budowlana S.A.

The Commission for Banking Supervision has issued permission to:

• DZ Bank AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank with a seat in Frankfurt am Main to exercise over 66% voting rights, yet not more than 75% voting rights, at the Shareholders' General Meeting of Bank Amerykanski w Polsce S.A. with a seat in Warsaw,
• Vereniging Achmea with a seat in Utrecht to exercise over 20% voting rights, yet not more than 25% voting rights, through the intermediary company Eureko B.V. with a seat in Amsterdam, at the Shareholders' General Meeting of BIG Bank Gdanski S.A. with a seat in Warsaw.

The Commission for Banking Supervision has approved the merger of Gospodarczy Bank Wielkopolski S.A. with a seat in Poznan and Pomorsko-Kujawski Bank Regionalny S.A. with a seat in Bydgoszcz through the transfer of assets of Pomorsko-Kujawski Bank Regionalny S.A. to Gospodarczy Bank Wielkopolski S.A. in exchange for shares of Gospodarczy Bank Wielkopolski S.A.

The Commission for Banking Supervision has approved the appointment of:

The Commission for Banking Supervision has been submitted the information on:

• financial situation of selected banks,
• cooperative banks that did not achieve the required capital threshold as of December 31, 2001,
• the results of the survey on outsourcing in banks,
• observing by banks the banking supervision recommendations containing principles of good banking practices.

Moreover, the Commission has adopted the report of activity of the Commission for Banking Supervision in 2001.
